Aileen Orr - Yoga

Aileen has been practicing Yoga for over twenty years and teaching since 1995. Her initial background is in Iyengar Yoga. Since 2004, she has been working regularly with Donna Farhi, and in 2007, completed Donna's Advanced Teacher Training course.

Fundamental to Aile
en's approach is creating a safe space where students are encouraged to meet their experience compassionately and establish trust in their own inner wisdom.

Yoga Classes

Breath is the fundamental source of nourishment.
In full body breathing we are grounded and fully alive. Bringing awareness to the oscillation of the breath as the seed movement which precedes all others forms the starting point for the asanas, vinyasanas, restoratives and stillness which make up the classes.

General classes are suitable for those with some experience of yoga, from any tradition. Please get in touch if you are uncertain about whether or not these classes are suitable for you, if you would like to book, or if you would like more information about Restorative Yoga or Yoga Nidra.

If you would like more information
about the classes, about yoga nidra or restorative yoga, or are uncertain which level may suit you best, please visit Aileen's website:

Amy Hughes - Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Guided Self-Practice (Mysore) with Amy Hughes
Tuesdays and Fridays 6.30am-8.30am
Drop-in £10 or 4 class pass £35/8 class pass £70

In these sessions students build an independent self-practice based on the Ashtanga series of postures devised by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, beginning with the Primary Series. Each day students sequentially build on the previous. The postures, their order and the breath which laces them together make this a powerful, healing practice.  Instructions and adjustments are personalised to the needs of the individual based on their constitution, strengths and limitations and the postures they are working on. Students can arrive and start at any time during the session and leave when their practice is complete.

I began yoga after my mum took me to a Hatha Yoga class 20 years ago and it has been my tool kit for life’s challenges ever since. I began teaching Anusara Yoga – a Vinyasa style – under the close tutelage of Bridget Woods-Kramer (Triyoga, London) in 2004. I later teacher trained with John Scott as an Ashtanga Teacher and continue to assist him when in the UK.  I am a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and my extensive trainings in two styles inform my teaching. My early teaching was focused on bio-mechanical alignment principles which help students practice intelligently and pain free. They combine well with Ashtanga which is a therapeutic practice that balances and cleanses the body, supports the nervous and immune systems and quietens the mind.
